December 28: Keto Margarita
Are you starting to feel a little fluffy? Pants getting snug? You can worry about weight after your last holiday cocktail on January 1. For now, re-energize and take a brief step back from all things sugar-and-spice for a keto flashback…a flashback all the way to your summer body memories. Try a Don Julio Keto Margarita. At the same time, you can learn a new cocktail suited for when your diet-goings get tough.
Makes four servings. Share with friends or sip all day!
6 oz. Don Julio Reposado Tequila
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 avocado (or use Wholly Avocado Minis from your grocer’s produce section)
Pinch of salt
- Add the tequila, lime juice, avocado (skinless and pit removed) with a pinch of salt to 2.5 cups of crushed ice in a blender
- Blend until the texture is smooth
- Pour into a rocks glass rimmed with spicy salt (no ice necessary)
- Garnish with cilantro and a lime wheel
*If you prefer your margarita over-the-rocks, simply omit the ice when mixing the cocktail. Pour over cubed ice in a rocks glass.
